Dr. Belle Orange was born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, also known as the hometown of Mr. Rogers, Arnold Palmer, and the birthplace of the banana split. Her love for animals started early, always wanting to help them and convincing her parents they needed just one more pet. Although she explored other interests growing up, she always came back to the idea of caring for animals and the people who love them. The defining moment came when her own pets were sick—feeling helpless in those moments sparked a deep commitment to learning how to ease their pain and be part of their healing.

She earned her Biology degree from La Roche University in Pittsburgh, where she was a member of both the women’s soccer team and the bowling team. Her first experience in veterinary medicine came from shadowing at her local clinic, where she observed surgeries and asked questions. That early exposure lit a spark that grew into a passion for veterinary care, especially surgery, which remains one of the most rewarding parts of her work today.

Dr. Orange credits her success to the unwavering support of her family and friends. Whether she was moving forward or facing challenges, they reminded her of her purpose and believed in her every step of the way. She considers herself lucky to have had a whole team of mentors and supporters who helped shape her journey.

She and her fiancé recently moved to the Triangle when he began a post-doctoral position at Duke University, researching neuroscience and biomedical engineering. A few connections helped lead her to Page Point, where she’s proud to be part of a team that shares her passion for high-quality, compassionate care.

At home, Dr. Orange shares life with Danni, their one-year-old mixed breed pup who keeps them on their toes. She also has a beloved family dog back in Pennsylvania named Preacher, a black and white Border Collie.

In her free time, she loves being outside—whether it’s hiking, fishing, or kayaking. When she’s ready to wind down, you can usually find her baking, reading, or enjoying a cozy evening in. Her favorite self-care routine starts with a workout, a hot shower, and a relaxing face mask, followed by a good book and something sweet.

“Pets need their teeth brushed just like we do! Daily brushing helps remove plaque and biofilm, which are key in preventing dental disease. It might take some patience (and creativity) to get them on board, but the more consistently you can do it, the healthier their mouth—and overall health—will be!”
